Primero Transport Services to partner FG for cost- saving public transport In Lagos

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Primero Transport Services, Fola Tinubu, has dropped hint of a strategic partnership plan with the Federal Government of Nigeria to convert 200 BRT buses to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

Fola Tinubu stated this at a recent roundtable discussion organised by the Congress of Maritime Media Practitioners (CONMMEP) in Lagos.

He said this initiative aims at reducing transportation costs in Lagos and promote a more sustainable public transport system.

According to him, the Lagos BRT bus system, launched in 2008, has undergone significant upgrades, including the introduction of new buses and an e-ticketing system. He said that under his leadership, Primero Transport Services has become a key player in the city’s transportation landscape, operating approximately 700 buses and managing 434 buses in the BRT system.

During the media session,Tinubu emphasized the need for a world-class public transport system in the state and suggested that for cheaper and quality public transportation in Lagos and the whole country,
Federal Government should assist public transport operators to cushion the soaring costs of diesel and spare parts.

According to him Primero elevated public transportation in Lagos, through the introduction of WiFi on buses and electronic ticketing in order to enhance efficiency and comfort.

Tinubu’s commitment to sustaining a modern public transport system in Lagos has remained unshakable over the years despite all odds.

As Lagos continues to evolve, partnerships like the one proposed by Primero Transport Services may play a crucial role in shaping the future of public transportation in the city.
A certificate of appreciation was publicly presented to the Boss of Primero Transport Service by the Executives of CONMMEP in recognition of his continued contribution to the development and improvement of public transportation in the state.
