Police vow to arrest hoodlums who burnt vigilante to death in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has vowed to hunt down hoodlums who burnt down the office of the Anambra State Vigilante Group in Amichi while an operative was in it.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated this in a press release made available to journalists in Awka.

Ikenga, while quoting the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Aderemi Adeoye, said no stone will go unturned in the quest to track down the hoodlums.

The hoodlums had attacked the vigilante office in Amichi, Nnewi South LGA, setting it ablaze and killing one operative in the process.

Ikenga said: “The Commissioner of Police commends vigilante groups across the State for their commitment to the protection of the citizenry and assured that the Police would do all within its powers to protect them.

“He has also directed Police Tactical Teams and Special Forces across the State to respond promptly to all distress calls from vigilante groups anytime they come under attack. His death will not be in vain.”
