Ogun screens 564 senior teachers for principal, vice-principal roles
The Ogun State Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, has commenced a screening exercise and Computer-Based Test, CBT, for 564 senior teachers and zonal secretaries aspiring to become principals and vice-principals.
Chairman of the commission, Abiodun Sanyaolu, said the exercise was aimed at strengthening leadership within the state’s education sector.
Sanyaolu stated this on Monday while addressing participants during the two-day exercise held at Baptist Boys High School, Saje, Abeokuta.
He explained that the process was designed to ensure merit-based selection among qualified officers already on grade levels 16 and 17.
The chairman revealed that 250 senior staff were shortlisted for the post of principal, while 314 were being considered for the position of vice-principal, urging participants to conduct themselves responsibly.
He stressed that their performance in the exercise would determine their eventual postings and test their knowledge of educational policies, school administration, curriculum planning, financial management and staff supervision.
