NSCDC CG charges field commanders on professional conduct, human rights
The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi has charged all Field Commanders to exhibit a high level of professionalism while carrying out their statutory duties.
CSC Babawale Zaid Afolabi, National PRO, NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja, in a statement, said CG Audi emphasized in Abuja that his administration will not tolerate any conduct that denigrates the ethical Values and Corps’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
He said all formations would be closely monitored and whoever violates the rules of engagement would be sanctioned and dealt with severely.
Audi, while declaring a 5-day course open, said the training is targeted at enhancing leadership skills and strategic capability building for the participants.
He emphasized that as Field Commanders, they must be extremely professional and exemplary while carrying out their assigned tasks.
He further encouraged them to demonstrate the highest form of civility and respect for the fundamental human rights of citizens, especially when confronted with tough situations.
The NSCDC helmsman restated his administration’s resolve to leverage on Personnel training and retraining towards enhancing the ability of the operatives to effectively defend the statutory mandate of the agency.
He applauded the overall support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards the NSCDC through the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, stating that the Corps will continue to justify its existence in compliance with the federal government policies and fundamental objectives.
Earlier in an address of welcome, the Assistant Commandant General in charge of Training and Manpower, ACG Lawal Muktar, urged the participants at the training to strive to acquire the fundamental principles of strategic thinking, situational awareness and decision-making that are essential for their performance.
