NIPCO deploys CNG to reduce reliance on petrol
NIPCO Plc says it is intensifying its investment in Compressed Natural Gas infrastructure as part of efforts to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on fossil fuels and support a cleaner energy future.
Speaking at the company’s Annual General Meeting held at the Abuja Continental Hotel recently, the Managing Director of NIPCO PLC, Suresh Kumar, said the company had recognised the potential of gas as an auto fuel 15 years ago and is now deepening its commitment.
“NIPCO is poised to intensify its investment in CNG infrastructure nationwide as part of its commitment to sustainability and reducing reliance on fossil fuels,” Kumar stated.
He added that the company’s partnership with the government would strengthen the rollout of CNG nationwide and allow more motorists and industrial users to benefit from the economic and environmental advantages of gas utilisation.
“NIPCO’s partnership with the government to bolster CNG infrastructure nationwide will enable more motorists and industrial users to benefit from the economic and environmental benefits of gas utilisation,” he said.
Kumar emphasised that the company’s focus on CNG aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and would contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
“NIPCO’s efforts in promoting CNG will contribute to a cleaner environment and a more sustainable future,” he noted.
He also credited the company’s workforce for playing a key role in driving the company’s growth.
“Our workforce has demonstrated dedication and perseverance, driving the company’s growth trajectory,” Kumar said.
On the company’s outlook, he said NIPCO plans to optimise its processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase brand visibility, all while continuing its downstream investments.
“We are committed to sustainability and social responsibility. NIPCO PLC is poised to play a leading role in Nigeria’s energy revolution,” he maintained.
