New Acting CAC Takes Helm at KLT

The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has witnessed a seamless leadership transition, as Deputy Comptroller BL Adigun assumed office as the new Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC).
The handing over and taking over ceremony, held on December 5, 2025, at the Command’s conference hall, was attended by senior officers, representatives of partner agencies, and key stakeholders.
The outgoing Acting Customs Area Controller, Assistant Comptroller General E.J. Edelduok, expressed gratitude to the Comptroller.General of Customs and the management team for the opportunity to serve at KLT. She described her tenure as fulfilling and impactful, crediting the progress recorded at the Command to teamwork, professionalism, and stakeholder support. She urged everyone to extend the same cooperation and loyalty to the new Acting Customs Area Controller.
In his acceptance speech, Deputy Comptroller Adigun thanked the Comptroller General of Customs for the trust placed in him. He commended Edelduok for her exemplary leadership and assured stakeholders of his commitment to building on the Command’s achievements. He prioritised revenue generation, trade facilitation, anti-smuggling efforts, and operational integrity, calling for continued collaboration with stakeholders and charging officers to remain dedicated to the Service’s mandate.
The transition ceremony featured the formal signing of handover documents, the symbolic presentation of the Service’s flag, and group photographs, marking the official transfer of authority.
Stakeholders praised the transition as a demonstration of institutional stability and continuity within the Nigeria Customs Service, expressing optimism about the Command’s future performance under the new leadership.
