NAFDAC seals warehouse with expired products in Benue [PHOTOS]
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, said its operatives have sealed Purity Agro Chemical Centre in Gboko, Benue State.
The agency said the warehouse contained 724 cartons of expired Patriarc agrochemicals.
NAFDAC revealed this on Friday via a statement posted on its official X handle.
The statement reads: “NAFDAC has uncovered and sealed Purity Agro Chemical Center in Gboko, Benue State, containing 724 cartons of expired Patriarc agrochemicals.
“The warehouse was found to contain 724 cartons of Patriarc agrochemicals being illegally revalidated with new shelf lives for distribution, along with various unregistered products such as Kris Herbicide, E-Tong Reapon 800WG, Onion Texas, Tomato Chiloli, and Hot Pepper.
“NAFDAC operatives have seized the expired and unregistered agrochemicals, and the facility has been secured. The owner of the company is currently at large, and efforts are ongoing to ensure his arrest.
“NAFDAC has called on consumers to stay alert and report any suspicious products or activities to the nearest NAFDAC office to help safeguard public safety.”
