More suspects arrested over ex-AIG Odumosu’s wife kidnap

Two more suspects have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the abduction of Folasade Odumosu, the wife of a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.

Folasade was kidnapped by four masked men from her residence in the Arepo area of Ogun State on January 16, 2024.

She was however rescued from her captors after a gun duel with the criminals in the swampy area of Ikorodu, Lagos State on Wednesday, and N10m ransom paid to the kidnappers was recovered.

During the operation, two of the kidnappers were killed while four fled with injuries, leaving behind their weapons, according to the police.

the suspects, identified as 27-year-old Agbojule Smart and 30-year-old Keleke Michael, were arrested while attempting to flee Lgos State.

He added that during interrogation, they confessed to being members of the four-man gang that kidnapped the ex-AIG’s wife.

Adejobi said, “The suspects were arrested in the early hours of today, Friday the 24th of January 2025 while on their way out of Lagos State. Upon interrogation, they confessed to their crime; belonging to a gang of 4, 2 of whom have been neutralized previously.

“Recovered from the suspects upon their arrest were the sum of N2,250,000, which was part of the requested ransom, two locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges.”
