Mass defection: PDP welcomes APC leaders, members in Ondo
Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, comprising some of the party’s leaders have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The party members are said to have dumped their party in support of the candidate of the PDP, Agboola Ajayi.
They come from Auga, Ikakumo and Akoko areas of the State.
The PDP, in a video it shared on X on Tuesday night, described the development as a “significant boost to the gubernatorial ambition of H.E. Agboola Ajayi, @A_AgboolaAjayi.”
“A large number of the failed All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Auga and Ikakumo, Akoko, Ondo State, have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“The defectors, comprising party leaders and loyalists, cited their desire to support a leader who truly cares about the welfare of the people as the reason for their defection.
“They expressed confidence in our Governorship Candidate in Ondo State, H.E. Agboola Ajayi’s ability to transform the State and improve the lives of its citizens.
“This mass defection is a clear indication of the growing popularity of H.E. Agboola Ajayi and the PDP in Ondo State. It demonstrates the people’s rejection of the APC’s failed policies and their desire for a better future.”
