Kaduna, Katsina commend NAF’s onslaught against criminals

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, and his Katsina State counterpart, Dikko Radda, have commended the Nigerian Air Force for its relentless onslaught against bandits and terrorists in their respective states.

The governors emphasised the need for sustained security efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.

Governor Sani, represented by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. James Kanyip, praised the NAF’s contributions during the 2024 Base Socio-Cultural Activities held in Kaduna.

Highlighting the importance of unity and cultural diversity, Sani stated, “This event demonstrates the significance of our diverse cultural heritage. It underscores the efforts of the Nigerian Air Force in promoting our values and unity while tackling insecurity.”

He further commended the collaborative efforts of security agencies and assured the NAF of his administration’s unwavering support.

“The government and people of Kaduna State will always support you in meeting your objectives. I urge all security agencies to sustain their onslaught against criminal elements and maintain vigilance in our state,” Sani said.

The Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command,Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi, highlighted the NAF’s achievements in 2024 despite challenges.

He noted that the Air Force conducted several air and ground operations, disrupting terrorist activities and enhancing security across Kaduna State.

“Our aggressive patrols under Operation BADA MAMAKI have deterred criminal activities and ensured the safety of our host communities,” Abdullahi said.

In Katsina, Governor Radda, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Faskari, also lauded the dedication of NAF personnel at the 213 Forward Operating Base.

Radda expressed gratitude for their sacrifices in combating insecurity, stating, “They deserve to be appreciated for their efforts and sacrifices in ensuring the safety and comfort of the people of Katsina. We salute their commitment and pray for their continued protection and success.”

Base Commander Air Commodore, Garba Jibia, who also serves as Joint Force Air Component Commander for Operation Fansan Yara Sector 11, echoed the successes achieved through joint operations with other security agencies.

“The unity and dedication demonstrated in our operations have been instrumental in restoring peace to the nation,” Jibia stated.

The event in Kaduna featured cultural dances by various ethnic groups, tug-of-war contests, the Beating of Retreats, and a bonfire. Traditional rulers, military officers, and members of the public attended the colorful celebration, which emphasised national unity.
