DSS, Army strengthen alliance to tackle insecurity

Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) Kaduna State, Mr. Hakeem Abiola and the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Muhammed Wase, during the visit.The Kaduna State Director of the Department of State Services, Mr. Hakeem Abiola, on Monday, paid a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Abubakar Wase, at the Division’s headquarters in Kaduna.

Abiola, who congratulated Wase on his appointment as GOC and Commander of Sector 1, Joint Task Force, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, said the visit was aimed at deepening collaboration with the Nigerian Army in tackling insurgency, banditry, and other security threats across the Division’s Area of Responsibility.

According to a statement on Tuesday by Lt. Col. Shuaib Umar, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Abiola emphasised the importance of strong inter-agency cooperation in addressing insecurity in the state.

In his response, Wase underscored that synergy among security agencies remained a cornerstone of the Army’s non-kinetic strategy in combating insecurity.

The visit also featured an interactive session between senior officers of both organisations on issues of mutual concern.

The GOC later presented a souvenir to the DSS Director.
