Comptroller Adenuga Assumes Leadership of Seme Customs, Commits to Trade  Facilitation, Collaboration - Journalng
Comptroller Wale Adenujga has officially taken over the leadership of the Nigeria Customs Service’s Seme Area Command, promising to deepen trade facilitation and make the Seme Bor June jder a source of the country’s pride.
The change of leadership was marked by a handing-over ceremony attended by senior officials from sister security agencies, trade and transport stakeholders, community leaders, and members of the media.
During his inaugural address, Adenuga praised his predecessor for his achievements and pledged to consolidate on them, with a focus on trade facilitation. He emphasised that his keyword is “trade facilitation”, stating that when stakeholders make proper declarations, their consignments will be cleared within the shortest possible time. This approach, he noted, will not only boost trade but also increase revenue generation and reduce smuggling.
Adenuga also committed to collaborating with sister agencies to reduce crime and create a conducive business environment. He assured stakeholders that his doors remain open and pledged to lead by example, ensuring officers remain disciplined and committed to their duties.
In his farewell remarks, outgoing Customs Area Controller, ACG Oramalugo expressed mixed emotions, highlighting key achievements under his leadership, including sustained suppression of smuggling, improved revenue collection, and enhanced trade facilitation.
He thanked the Comptroller General of Customs and NCS Management for their support and urged stakeholders to extend greater support to Comptroller Adenuga.
