Brig Gen Babatunde Omopariola assumes office as Commander 17 Brigade
Brigadier General Babatunde Omopariola officially assumed office as commander of the 17 Brigade Nigerian Army and commander of Sector 2 Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Haderim Daji, JTF NW OPHD.
The handover ceremony took place at the Brigade Headquarters, Natsinta Cantonment, Katsina, where Brigadier General Omopariola succeeded Brigadier General O.A. Fadairo, who has been posted to 12 Brigade Lokoja as commander.
During his farewell address at the 35 Battalion Parade Ground, Brig. Gen. Fadairo praised the officers and soldiers of the Brigade for their unwavering support and cooperation during his tenure.
He urged them to maintain their commitment and discipline and expressed confidence in Brig. Gen. Omopariola’s ability to lead the brigade to even greater achievements.
In his maiden address to the officers of the brigade, Brig. Gen. Omopariola commended his predecessor for his successful service record and expressed his readiness to collaborate with all officers and soldiers to ensure lasting peace and stability within the brigade’s area of responsibility.
Before his new appointment, Brig. Gen. Omopariola served as the Chief of Staff, Headquarters, 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt.
The event featured the signing of the handing and taking over notes, the symbolic handing over of the command flag, and a quarter guard parade.
