Africa World Airlines (AWA), the leading airline in Ghana, has been named the recipient of the prestigious Excellence in Health, Safety, Environment & Quality- 2024 for Aviation in Ghana at the 7th edition of the Ghana – West Africa Business Excellence Awards.

The award held on the 10th of May at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra is a monument to AWA’s steadfast commitment to investing in safety and not just in reaching destinations, but in ensuring the utmost safety of its passengers.

For 11years, AWA has meticulously honed its safety protocols and standard, leaving no stone unturned in striving for flawless outcomes of zero accident.

From its origination, safety has not just a priority, but a core value embedded in every aspect of operation making Aviation Industry regulatory bodies IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) lauding the airline for its exemplary safety record and unwavering dedication to excellence for passing the IOSA audit.

The Head of Commercial, Mr. Jonathan Appiah, and the Head of Safety, Captain Victor Aryeetey, received the award on behalf Africa World Airlines (AWA).

Aryeetey said: “Ensuring safety isn’t merely an objective; it’s our solemn obligation, our unwavering commitment.

“Each individual who steps onto our aircraft is invaluable, and safeguarding their well-being is our paramount promise.

“This accolade serves not only as recognition of our accomplishments but also as a poignant reminder of the profound trust bestowed upon us by every passenger whenever they journey with us.”

Appiah reiterated AWA’s dedication to sustainable practices and commitment to making significant impacts beyond financial gains.

He spoke not just of the applause they had received but of the journey that had led them there.

Appiah took the opportunity to thank staff of AWA for their significant support and maintaining high standard for operation and customers.

“Although we always thrive to have on-time departure but sometimes due to operational and safety reasons there has to be some cancellations and delays,” he added.

Appiah concluded by encouraging the general public to download the mobile app “Africa World Airlines” on google play store and App store.

He hinted on offering discount fares soon on all AWA network: Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi, Lagos and Abuja.

The occasion was organised by KN Unique Communications and endorsed by the West Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The awards event provides a platform to recognise individuals and companies which have over the years played a significant role in development of the business sectorr.
