Auto Industry Heavyweights, Regulators Converge in Lagos for Landmark 2025 NAJA Awards

The stage is set for the 2025 Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Awards, as leading automotive brands, regulators, and mobility innovators prepare to converge in Lagos for one of the industry’s most prestigious nights.
Scheduled for Tuesday, December 16, the awards ceremony will take place at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, bringing together key stakeholders across Nigeria’s automotive and mobility ecosystem. Widely regarded as the “Oscars” of the Nigerian auto industry, the annual event celebrates excellence, innovation, and performance across the sector.
Chairman of the NAJA Awards Organising Committee, Frank Kintum, described the 2025 edition as a defining moment for the industry, noting that competition among brands has been particularly intense this year.
“The automotive sector has experienced remarkable shifts in the past year—from the rise of electric mobility and new vehicle launches to improved after-sales investments”, Kintum said. “This year’s awards will spotlight those milestones and honour the organisations and individuals driving the industry forward”.
He added that beyond recognition, the NAJA Awards serve as a platform for engagement, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among professionals shaping the future of transportation in Nigeria.
High-profile dignitaries expected at the ceremony include the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, and the Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Otunba Oluwemimo Osanipin. Organisers said their presence underscores the event’s strategic relevance to road safety, automotive policy, and local vehicle manufacturing.
Also confirmed are senior executives from major automotive and mobility brands such as Toyota Nigeria, Coscharis Motors, Weststar Associates (Mercedes-Benz), Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Carloha Nigeria, Briscoe Motors, Stallion Group, SAGLEV Electric Vehicles, Dangote Sinotruk West Africa, Jetour Auto, GUO Motors, Jet Systems, Industrial Project International (IPI), CEDRIC, and JeGo Electric Mobility, among others.
This year’s awards will recognise excellence across multiple categories, including innovation, customer service, vehicle safety, sustainable mobility, commercial vehicle leadership, after-sales performance, and local manufacturing achievements.
Electric vehicle manufacturers and mobility technology startups are also expected to take centre stage, reflecting Nigeria’s gradual shift towards cleaner, technology-driven transport solutions.
NAJA President noted that the awards have become a benchmark for best practices in the industry, pushing brands to continuously raise standards in safety, service delivery, and customer satisfaction.
As stakeholders gather in Lagos, the 2025 NAJA Awards are expected to go beyond celebration, providing a powerful platform for networking, policy discussions, and partnerships that could help shape the next phase of Nigeria’s automotive evolution.
The event will attract auto journalists, policymakers, industry executives, and mobility entrepreneurs, reinforcing its status as the most influential annual gathering in Nigeria’s automotive sector.
