Atiku, Kwankwaso: Why North can’t speak in one voice in 2027 – Buba Galadima

A chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Buba Galadima has said it is impossible for the entire northern region to have a single presidential candidate in the 2027 election.

In an interview with Sun, the former National Secretary of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, explained that in a democratic setting like Nigeria, electorates have the liberty to make their different choices.

When asked if the Northerners would pick either Atiku Abubakar, former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP or his NNPP counterpart, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Galadima said, “We are not in the church; we are not in the mosque. Why should we speak with one voice?

“That is democracy. If you bring three people together, everybody has got a different way of thinking on how to solve a certain problem”.

The NNPP chieftain also alleged that the party’s votes in the 2023 general elections were suppressed.

“NNPP is doing very well because after the elections, we discovered that our votes were suppressed. Over five million of our votes were suppressed”, he said.
